Welcome Back!!

If you have reached this site as a result of checking the link; http://members.rushmore.com/~gaysdakota/index.html then you have tripped over the remnants of this sites predecessor.   My intention was to keep that site going once moved to the BH Fibercom server and was for a while.  Then something changed.  Software, hardware error, who knows, but it became difficult to keep updates current via the methods I was using.  The folks at Fibercom said their site would work with FrontPage, and I was getting proficient with that program, but the software never worked ,and the site fell into disrepair. A friend of mine here in Rapid city also had a site on Fibercom and his crashed too.

Back up files were lost, or mixed up with older back up files, time became scarce, I got a partner, life happened and, well.. things got put on the back burner. 

I continued to train myself on two other websites that I worked on, one was voluntary, one was personal.  My abilities working with FrontPage grew.  Funny how well Frontpage works on Yahoo servers but not on the local outfits.  HMMMMMM?.  Free web space is great when its set up correctly.

2007 came rolling around and I decided my new years resolution would be to put the GaySDakota website back on the web.  The domain Southdakotaproject.com has been ours for years, It was pointing to the web space on Fibercom, but since half of the deal wasn't working I bit the bullet and purchased web space from the same people I obtained the Domain name.  Omnis.com is set up a little different from the Yahoo servers, but its nothing my partner and I cant figure out.... well my partner figured it out.  He's the whiz when it comes to details like server set ups.

Any how, Gay South Dakota Website is BACK!!  It will continue until someone puts something better together.

Ideas, new resources, information, send it to me.  Projects in the works are community calendars, gay friendly business directory, un-gay friendly directory, online group locators, links page for any website in south dakota dealing with glbt issues. Possibly a few other fun things.  I have tons of webspace here, perhaps we can do something free or really inexpensive and allow folks to quit hemorrhaging money on things like Out Personals or Gay.com.  Will see. 

Ill work on reestablishing what has gone before, possibly using some old material until I can write new. This website is something new, built on something old.  I hope to reflect the new more and more as time goes on.

I believe in the people of South Dakota.  But I have said it before and it still holds true.  We live in a big, under populated place and its not always easy to find your neighbors.  Its getting easier due to internet access, but you still got to dig.  Hopefully this will enable folks to find what they need with smaller effort.
